FALL MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST
Change your furnace filter (monthly)
Check grading around the house to make sure it moves water away from foundation
Pest control - check exterior for small holes and/or ways critters might get in
Furnace Tune up (or bleed your radiators)
Replace screens with storm windows
Remove debris from gutters and secure downspouts
Drain exterior faucets & remove hoses
Blow out sprinkler systems
Shut down the pool for the winter (if you have a pool)
Check / replace weather stripping
Clean Chimney before fireplace use (every year or two)
Plant bulbs for the Spring
Rake, Rake, Rake! (or mulch leaves into the lawn)
Check that exterior outlets are covered
Test smoke detectors & carbon monoxide detectors
Adjust your thermostat
Turn on humidifier (if applicable)
Drain your water heater (good idea to do once a year)
Put away lawn mower & get out snow blower (if applicable)
Tune up snow blower
