Spring Maintenance Checklist

Spring is here! As the days get longer, a pop of green and some flowers can breathe new life into a home. Here’s a handy list of things to think about as the days warm up!

Change your furnace filter (monthly)
Clean gutters and downspouts - making sure downspouts are connected and water is moved away from the foundation.
Check sprinkler / irrigation systems
Turn back on exterior water spigots
Take off storm windows and replace with screens (or check your screens)
Schedule air conditioning service/tune-up
Do an exterior walk-around inspection (winter can be hard on houses)
Treat or re-stain decks (every few years)
Power wash grime from exterior, included driveway, porches and patios
Survey your trees, and tend to them as necessary.
Confirm sump pump is in working order (battery back-up is a great idea)
Spring yard clean-up, plant summer bulbs
Remove debris from window wells
Clean faucet aerators & showerheads to remove mineral deposits
Check exterior for cracks and seal
Remove lint from the dryer vent
Fertilize lawn
